ABOUT US

For 26 years, RCA has consistently delivered dedicated service to the healthcare sector, supporting both healthcare providers and customers with unwavering commitment.

At RCA, our foundation is built on exceptional people, outstanding products, and unparalleled service. We are committed not only to maintaining our respected position in the healthcare industry but also to continuously elevating it—aspiring to be the preferred choice for both customers and employees.

We are focused on driving purposeful, sustainable growth that creates lasting value for all our partners. Across every area of our operations, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence.

We are fully committed to operating in compliance with ISO 13485 standards, as well as the regulations and legislation that govern the medical device and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. This commitment underpins our role as a trusted partner in the healthcare sector.

Our purpose is to distribute and support a comprehensive range of hospital and IVD equipment—delivering critical solutions that patients and healthcare providers depend on for safety, precision, and professional care when it matters most.

RCA’s journey began in 1998 as a family-run enterprise, boasting a modest team of five. Initially specializing in Ventilation and Neonatology with the Bear agency, our growth trajectory was swift. By 1999, we proudly incorporated Fisher & Paykel, followed by the Mindray agency in 2005, enhancing our acute hospital product offerings. Over time, our product portfolio expanded to encompass Critical Care, Operating Rooms, Emergency Departments, Wards, Sub Acute Hospitals, and a rapidly growing Homecare Division.

In our brief yet illustrious history, RCA has garnered over 20 excellence awards, including the prestigious Critical Care Society of Southern Africa Floating Trophy, clinched twice within five years.

In 2014, RCA underwent a transition, joining Ascendis Health. Despite becoming part of a multinational listed entity, we remained steadfast in preserving our distinctive culture and identity, prioritizing unparalleled customer service and fostering an exceptional work environment. Fast forward to October 2021, buoyed by the support of private equity firm Ata Capital, RCA embarked on a triumphant Management buyout, reclaiming its status as a 100% South African, privately owned entity.

In an era increasingly centered on patient well-being, RCA is actively evolving to align with the broader context of clinical operations, positioning itself as an insightful partner in line with the evolving vision of health. Embracing the future of healthcare, we are continually honing our capabilities and forging new partnerships across diverse healthcare landscapes. Our evolving portfolio now encompasses interventional, surgical, and in-vitro diagnostic solutions, underscoring our commitment to advancing healthcare excellence.
