At RCA, our foundation rests upon exceptional individuals, products, and service. Our aspiration is not only to uphold but also to enhance our esteemed position within the Healthcare Industry, striving to be the preferred choice for both customers and employees alike.

We are dedicated to cultivating focused growth to ensure a sustainable business model that benefits all our partners. Our unwavering commitment is to consistently excel across every facet of our operations.

We are committed to comply with and manage our business in line with requirements of the ISO 13485 standard and the various regulations and acts governing the medical devices and IVD industry within which we position ourselves as a trusted partner.

Our purpose is to distribute and support a broad range of hospital and in vitro diagnostic equipment that provides critical support to patients when they rely on safety, care, accuracy and professionalism.

RCA’s journey began in 1998 as a family-run enterprise, boasting a modest team of five. Initially specializing in Ventilation and Neonatology with the Bear agency, our growth trajectory was swift. By 1999, we proudly incorporated Fisher & Paykel, followed by the Mindray agency in 2005, enhancing our acute hospital product offerings. Over time, our product portfolio expanded to encompass Critical Care, Operating Rooms, Emergency Departments, Wards, Sub Acute Hospitals, and a rapidly growing Homecare Division.

In our brief yet illustrious history, RCA has garnered over 20 excellence awards, including the prestigious Critical Care Society of Southern Africa Floating Trophy, clinched twice within five years.

In 2014, RCA underwent a transition, joining Ascendis Health. Despite becoming part of a multinational listed entity, we remained steadfast in preserving our distinctive culture and identity, prioritizing unparalleled customer service and fostering an exceptional work environment. Fast forward to October 2021, buoyed by the support of private equity firm Ata Capital, RCA embarked on a triumphant Management buyout, reclaiming its status as a 100% South African, privately owned entity.

In an era increasingly centered on patient well-being, RCA is actively evolving to align with the broader context of clinical operations, positioning itself as an insightful partner in line with the evolving vision of health. Embracing the future of healthcare, we are continually honing our capabilities and forging new partnerships across diverse healthcare landscapes. Our evolving portfolio now encompasses interventional, surgical, and in-vitro diagnostic solutions, underscoring our commitment to advancing healthcare excellence.

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE

We have the
future in mind.

We have also been awarded a Level 1 BEE rating and are continuously looking for new ways to invest in the future of South Africa by supporting human resource programs for our previously disadvantaged employees as well supporting specific community upliftment projects.

In FY’22 RCA said YES for 30 YES learners in the YES4YOUTH program, this is a business-led collaboration that seeks out ground-breaking ways, through innovation and technological best practice to reignite the economy and give youth a dignified first change to a career.

We further aim to assist Electronic / Clinical Engineer Learners through our 6-month P2 program.   This is giving them a kick start to a professional career within our industry and / or possible permanent employment within our organisation.

Recently RCA has invested in our community with a small sponsorship of a local soccer team in an effort to help the community by keeping our local youth in Johannesburg busy with the things they love.

We further endeavour to invest in projects in the community to uplift people with disabilities and our youth.
